Company registration UAE
Registering a UAE company is not just submitting documents. The registration path depends on your activity, authority, legal form, shareholder type, visas, office needs, banking file and compliance obligations.
First things first
Before registering, decide the route, emirate/authority, activity, legal form, shareholder structure, visa and office needs, and banking/tax path. If that is not clear yet, start with the setup route review.

Prepare legal agreement and register the business address.
Handle external approvals, then final license issuance.

Choose the zone by activity, cost, visas, facility and banking.
Select license activity, shareholding and entity type.
Submit shareholder and, where relevant, corporate documents.
Sign application and MOA-equivalent documents.
Choose flexi desk, office or warehouse.
Receive license and open the post-license file.
Documents
Requirements vary by jurisdiction, legal form and shareholder type.
Legal forms
Ownership and legal form
The legal form should make the ownership, management authority, liability position and document route legible to the authority, bank and counterparties.
Founder-owned mainland or free-zone company
A new owner-managed UAE operation will contract and build its own team
Who owns shares, manages the entity and holds bank/signatory authority in practice?
Corporate-owned subsidiary
An existing group wants a distinct UAE entity with parent ownership and local operating capacity
Which parent approvals, constitutional documents, UBO information and legalisation will be required?
Branch of an existing company
The parent wants the UAE presence to operate with parent continuity
Does the parent accept the branch structure, documents and liability exposure for the intended activity?
Holding or non-operating structure
The immediate purpose is ownership, assets or group structuring rather than day-to-day UAE trading
Will the proposed route support the actual banking, governance, substance and future operating plan?
Timeline reality
A straightforward individual-shareholder filing can move differently from a corporate, regulated or premises-led registration. Set the critical path before a launch date is promised.

Business setup is the broader decision covering jurisdiction, activity, legal form, visas, bank and compliance. Company registration is the formal authority process to create the entity and issue the license.
Some UAE routes can be started or completed online through official platforms, but eligibility, documents, signatures, visas and bank steps vary.
Mainland companies register through the emirate economic department, free-zone companies through the chosen free-zone authority, and offshore entities through the relevant offshore registry.
Many activities allow full foreign ownership, but ownership and governance rules must be checked against the activity, legal form, emirate and any strategic-sector restrictions.
Individuals usually need passport and identity documents. Corporate shareholders need parent-company documents, resolutions, UBO details and often attestation and translations.
A considered next step
Send the activity, target clients, ownership position, visa or premises plan, timing and any route already under consideration. We will identify the decision work that matters before commitment.
